Hillgrove
Quick Facts
- About four miles west of the head of St. Mary's Bay.
- The name may have been taken from the Hillgrove Baptist church at Acaciaville, so named in 1862 because of a grove of beech and maple trees in front of the church.
- The settlement, also long known as Digby Ridge, was founded by Hiram Betts, who built a house here in 1799.
